This fantastic programme features wonderful music written to celebrate the age-old pairing of voices and organ, including Kodály’s Laudes Organi, Langlais’ imposing Messe Solennelle and one of Mendelssohn’s best-known works, Hear My Prayer (which includes the famous ‘O For the Wings of a Dove’), alongside anthems by Gerald Finzi and the late John Tavener.
We are delighted to be joined for this concert by Nick Morris, Assistant Organist of Birmingham Cathedral, playing Jesus College’s Hudleston Organ, regarded as one of the finest organs in Cambridge.
