Falling on 11 November, our autumn concert honours this period of remembrance with contemplative masterworks by two giants of English music, C. Hubert Parry and Herbert Howells.

As we reflect on how previous generations have laid the foundation for the present, we hear how the music of Parry - bastion of a Victorian, 19th century English tradition - paves the way for Howells’ new, 20th century musical language.
